If there is one ingredient that I cannot stop using during the holiday season it is – without a doubt – cranberries. I love both raw cranberries as well as dried cranberries. Every season I tend to buy lots of bags of fresh cranberries and freeze them. That way I can use my favorite ingredient year round.
Cranberry recipes
Now if you have not tried my cranberry sauce recipe, I would suggest you start there. I think it is the best cranberry sauce out there, but I might be somewhat biased. That said there is a ton of other things you can do with cranberries. I love adding it to simple baking recipes like my cranberry cake and it is perfect for adding to your thanksgiving turkey. Leftover cranberry sauce can easily be used in things like your favorite breakfast. It super easy to make and absolutely delicious. Anyway, I have collected a couple of my favorite cranberry recipes for you here. So enjoy and let me know which one is your favorite!
This easy cranberry cake is made with fresh cranberries, soft butter, and simple pantry ingredients. The berries bake until tender and give the cake a bright, tart flavor. Perfect for the holidays and a guaranteed success!
Fresh cranberries are one of my favorite ingredients to bake with during the holidays, and this upside-down cranberry cake shows exactly why. When the tart berries bubble away in a buttery caramel sauce, they transform into a ruby-red topping that looks every bit as festive as it tastes. And the best part? Underneath that glossy layer is a soft, moist vanilla cake that is incredibly simple to make. Flip it over, slice it up, and you’ve got a stunning dessert with zero decorating required, the ideal treat for both Thanksgiving and Christmas.
For the cranberry compote I have used my killer recipe for cranberry sauce but instead of passing it through a sieve I have left it as is (of course I did remove the star anis and cinnamon!) and used it as a compote instead. Just as good!
