You also need; a pestle and mortarone large caketin of around 24 cm or 6 smaller ones of 10 cm each)
Instructions
Let the butter get to roomtemperature. Preheat the oven to 180 C. Put the flour and bakingpowder together and put through a sieve.
Open the cardamom pods (if they won't open easily give them a soft thud with the pestle) and remove the black seeds from the pods. Grind the seeds in the pestle and mortar.
Whisk the butter with the sugar until light and creamy. Add the eggs one by one. Add the flour a little bit at the time. Then add half of the ground cardamom.
Fill little caketins or one large one with the batter. Peel the apples and cut them into thin slices. Put each slight into the batter like they are standing up (look at the photo for the effect you want to achieve)
Mix the remaining 3 tbsp of sugar with the rest of the cardamom. Sprinkle over the cake or cakes, put into the oven until golden and well done.
