Chia Smoothies

Sometimes it just happens. Not often, but still every once in a while it hits me… I don’t feel like cooking… Yes really! And yes ofcourse a salad is made in just a few minutes, a sandwich is done is even less, but what if you’re just not in the mood for those quick fixes? So for lunch a smoothie seemed the appropriate thing to make. No cutting required, done in two minutes, See sometimes those are the recipes you need!

 

And let’s be honest, you don’t really need a recipe for this, but I will give you all the ingredients anyway. Than in case of emergency you can go and make this delicious and healthy smoothie yourself. The secret ingredient? Is chia seed… Because I read somewhere that it is better to soak them a bit before using I did that and indeed within no time at all, the seeds had soaked up all the water! I had not expected that to happen! It kind of looks like poppyseed and they react very differently ofcourse. Anyway, they’re superhealthy and the abundance of fresh fruit makes this is a good for you smoothie!

Ingredients
  • Orange juice fresh
  • 1 banana
  • handfull of blue berries
  • 2 tbsp chia seeds soaked in water before if you want
  • few twigs of red currants
  • coconut milk
Instructions
  1. Put the orange juice into a blender together with pieces of the banana, the rest of the fruit, the chia seeds and the coconut milk. Blend away. If it's too thick, add a bit more orange juice or coconut milk and blend again.
