Kale with tomato, minced meat and cheese | insimoneskitchen.com

Even in Holland the second week of February is dominated by the themes ‘love and romance’, for we are heading towards 02/14 aka Valentine’ Day.
Originally this day was supposed to show your affection as a secret admirer by sending an anonimous postcard or letter. You know, as a means to reach out to ‘that chick you dig’, but to say it out loud is a little too big.
Ofcourse this nice and romantic tradition, as with many nice traditions, has been brutally pimped up by all the giftshops in a commercial event in which you can only show your affection by buying the most expensive presents for the Misses.
Whatever happened to romance that doesn’t cost you a fortune?

Like sitting down with the Misses and sharing a glass of wine, stare in each other eyes and listening to mellow background music from Percy Sledge or JJ Cale.
Oh no, let’s not get carried away too much, for this is totally unDudey!
If you want romance and Cale for your Valentine, I’ll bring you this awesome recipe for JJ Kale from the oven.
A delicious dish with kale, mashed potatoes and minced meat, to surprise the Misses for Valentine’s Day.
Comfortfood really doesn’t come any better than this, Dudes!

Enjoy!
